Hyderabad-Karnataka (HK) Quota in KCET
Candidates from the Hyderabad-Karnataka region may claim HK quota seats under Article 371J. KEA maintains a separate HK merit / cutoff column (PROF_CODE_E_H PDFs) distinct from Rest-of-Karnataka (General / RK).
Who is eligible?
Typically students with domicile / study linkage to HK districts notified under 371J (e.g. Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Ballari, Vijayanagara — confirm current KEA circular). You must produce the HK eligibility certificate KEA asks for at verification.
How cutoffs work for HK
- Use the HK region filter on our 2026 mock cutoffs and Round 3 / Round 1 pages — do not compare yourself only to GM-RK ranks.
- HK closing ranks are often more relaxed than RK for the same college–branch, but competition still concentrates in CSE/AIML at top private colleges.
- Predictor: set Region = Hyderabad-Karnataka (371j) so results use HK columns.
Option entry tips
Still put genuine preference first. HK entitlement does not mean a short list is safe — fill depth across branches. Pair HK cutoffs with the 2026 seat matrix to see how many KEA seats exist in each branch.
